What if Work was Church?
What if work was church? I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. For me, work is not currently what I do to feel fulfilled. But if I acknowledge to myself that I’m spending most of my time doing stuff just for the money, I end up feeling depressed.
I know I’m not alone on this one.
If I think of work as a place to connect with the Divine and practice being a human, then my days are filled with radical spiritual growth, and then at the end of the day, I get to share what I learned with you and transmute that into art.
Whoa. There it is. Just blew my own mind.
The Hermetic Principle of Polarity teaches that duality exists in everything. So, everything has it’s opposite. (All things and conditions being neutral until we place a judgement on it).
So, let’s say I feel unfulfilled at work. Okay, the opposite of unfulfilled is fulfilled, and I feel fulfilled when my time is filled with purpose. How can I fill my time with purpose? For me, that helps to think that I’m doing what I’m doing for a higher cause. For me, communication with the Divine, and practice being better is very fulfilling, even if the practical nature of it is difficult. I go home feeling uplifted.
